FAQ

Where are Ekam candles manufactured?

Ekam candles are manufactured in Mangalore by Primacy Industries—one of the largest manufacturers and exporters of candles in the world.

Primacy exports fragranced candles to world’s biggest retailers including Wal-Mart, Pier 1, Dollar Tree, Candle Artisan, Bill Blass, etc.

You can visit our corporate website www.primacyind.com for more information.

Are these imported candles? / Are these Export Surpluses? How are Ekam candles different from other candles in the market?

Ekam candles are designed and produced specially for the Indian market. They are neither imported nor export surplus.

All fragrances, colours and styles are created specially keeping in mind Indian preferences. They are superior quality candles and comparatively contain a higher percentage of fragrance, up to 7%. Ekam candles burn better and more evenly due to their superior quality, which passes the international ASTM quality requirements.

How are Ekam candles priced?

Ekam candles are priced very competitively after thorough market research to provide end-customers maximum value for money. (There are lower quality imports in the Indian market, which are priced 10 - 15 % higher)

By dividing the burn time by the MRP, customers can see how affordable it is to use Ekam candles.

What wicks does Ekam use?

Ekam wicks are 100% lead-free (though not pure cotton) and imported from leading, internationally approved suppliers of Germany and the US. They are non-toxic and virtually give out no sooty flue.

What fragrances does Ekam use?

Ekam uses only the highest quality fragrances declared safe by the International Fragrance Association (IFRA). Though not organic, all fragrances used by Ekam are approved for sale even in the US and Europe.

What wax do Ekam candles use?

Ekam uses a mixture of vegetable-based wax and paraffin wax of the best quality. We plan to launch a soy wax range in the future.

Do Ekam pillar candles break while burning? / Do Ekam pillar candles ‘tunnel’?

Pillar candles can tunnel if the wrong wick is used, if the wick is not correctly centered /placed and if an improper wax to fragrance ratio is used in production.

Primacy has been producing internationally accepted pillar candles for over two years, and Ekam pillars are produced after the same ‘burn’ tests for quality assurance.

With proper burning practice (see ‘Tips’), they will burn down evenly and as such, last longer.

Do I get refills for Ekam glass candles?

For safety purpose, we do not produce refills as it is difficult to ensure that customers use the right refill in a container.

What do I do with the jars after the wax finishes? / Can I clean and use these glass jars later?

For safety and health purpose we do not recommend that these glass jars be reused for any other purpose.

How long does an Ekam candle burn?

The burn time depends on the shape and size of the candle. The maximum burn time for each candle is specified on the warning label on the base of the candle or printed on the packaging.

Why is a candle of almost the same style or amount of wax priced differently?

Ekam candles are priced based on a variety of factors such as glass, wax composition and fragrance prices. Also, the production time involved. Like all other products, they may be re-priced at time of production due to market fluctuations.
