Burning Tips

  • Let your Ekam Pillar Candle burn 1 hour for every inch of its diameter. This will ensure your pillar burns down evenly. For e.g., 2.8” x 3” and 2.8”x 6” pillars should be burnt at least two and a half hours at each lighting.
  • Remove ALL packaging material, such as acetate, labels, etc. from Ekam Pillar Candles before burning.
  • At each lighting, let your Ekam Jar Candle burn till the pool of liquid wax extends to the circumference or approximately 3 hours at a time. This will eliminate or greatly reduce the wax left on the sides.
  • Keep candles away from wind draughts which are created by open windows, ceiling fans and high-traffic areas of your home. (You can make this out if you see the flame flickering very quickly) Airy rooms lead to fragrance loss and may also cause ‘smoking’ in candles.
  • Never allow the flame to come in direct contact with the side of the container as this causes blackening and uneven burning. If this happens, reposition the wick by quickly moving it back to the center with a non-flammable instrument.
  • Discontinue use when ½” of wax remains to prevent possible heat damage to the counter surface or the container itself.
Cleaning & Preserving:

  • If for any reason, your Ekam candle’s container becomes blackened while burning, extinguish the candle, wait till the wax has solidified and then clean with a dry paper towel. Blackening may be prevented by keeping the wick trimmed to ¼” while burning.
  • Replace lids on Ekam Jar Candles when not being burned to retain fragrance longer.
  • Lightly rub the surface of an unlit Ekam Pillar Candle with a pair of nylons to restore its shine and fragrance.
  • Ekam candles use UV protected colours but it is still recommended to keep them away from direct sunlight.

Precautions:

  • Always burn a candle within sight.
  • Always keep candles out of the reach of children and pets.
  • Always handle jar candle with care as the container may become hot.
  • Always burn candles on a heat-resistant surface such as a ceramic tile.
  • Never burn a candle near combustible materials such as curtains, bedding or cabinets.
  • Never spray an aerosol can (insecticides, deodorants and paints) near an open flame.
  • Never burn a candle if the container is cracked, chipped, scratched or damaged in any way.
